Cowlitz County is located on the northern border of Clark County. The City of Woodland is split between the two counties by the Lewis River. It is a beautiful part of SW Washington with the Columbia River on the SW border and the Lewis River on it's southern border. You can find great communities in the area and an abundance of recreational sites. The largest city and county seat is Longview.

Although Mount St. Helens is located in Skamania County, Cowlitz County has the most public and user friendly access to the Mount St Helens recreational area. The Woodland Tourist Center has an abundance of maps and information. |
